HOMELESSNESS

FURNISH A FUTURE

This project was designed by AIGA Minnesota’s Design For Good initiative to raise awareness for youth experiencing homelessness. It was created in partnership with YouthLink and displayed at the Art Shanty Project.

The Furnish a Future exhibit consisted of five pieces of furniture that created a walk-through experience for visitors. Each furniture item displayed information about challenges homeless youth face in relation to education, food, health, employment, and shelter. In addition, these pieces relayed ways YouthLink works to combat these issues.

The five pieces of furniture and topics that they represent are significant in that this awareness piece was used to celebrate YouthLink’s 5 years anniversary of their youth opportunity center.
